Sitting with Kontomblé
A note from Aislinn
Thank you for following the call to sit in divinatory space, with my relatives, the Kontomblé. These ancient beings, the little people of the Dagara Tribe in Burkina Faso, are very near and dear to my heart- and my opening my heart and my voice to them has been a blessing and a beautiful remembering. From the bottom of my heart, I honor and welcome them, and I’m honored that you have received the call to hear from them, too! Thank you for meeting me here with them, thank you for choosing to hear from Kontomblé.
You may have some questions as to who the Kontomblé are. As I mentioned, they are the Little People of the Dagara Tribe in Burkina Faso. They are, in many ways, representatives of all the Little People around the world. They are also Ancient Souls, who come from a place beyond time, and are born of both earth and star. They are known across cultures as Leprechauns, Fairies, Elves, Nymphs, Gnomes, Menehune, Tontuu, and Chahochina- the list goes on. They are the original stewards of the earth and tenders of the elements. They are, in fact, quite cosmic in nature.
One great resource on the Little People, is my partner, Cliff Taylor’s book- The Memory of Souls.
- - - How will the session go?
We will begin by meeting in an online Zoom Video conference, so we can check in with one another before dropping into the divination space. After a brief check-in, I will move to my altar and turn off my video. Then the divination will begin with a short invocation, and usually- a song. When the Kontomblé come through, they speak in their mother tongue, an ancient language that sparks remembering on a cellular level. You will hear them speak in their language, and hear me translate this into English. Usually, they will have a lot to say to you and then there will be room for questions at the end. They may ask you a question or two throughout the divination, so if they prompt you, please respond! Your divination will be recorded unless otherwise requested, so you may listen to it again if you like.
- - - Preparations
I ask that you please prepare beforehand by making a plate of offerings for your ancestors, and also by making offerings to the Kontomblé. The Kontomblé really enjoy honey, sesame seeds, and liquor. Coins, sweets, cookies, wild water, warm milk, fresh flowers and ash also make good additions. Honey is their favorite! For your ancestors, if you are uncertain what to offer at this time, please consider a cultural food that your recent ancestors would have enjoyed- such as something from your heritage to honor them. Please set your space, with the intention to honor the sacred, and honor your healthy and supportive ancestors as well. This may look like being close by to an altar or having some special sacred objects set up with you. Make sure you are comfortably seated, in a quiet and private space where you can receive the messages unencumbered.
Also, please spend some time considering any questions you may have for them so that you are prepared. Toward the end of the session, there will be room to ask them 2 or 3 questions. Lastly, please also review my Session Guidelines.
